The thermometer is made of corrosion resistant aluminum and is easy to read. Simply insert the thermometer 2 to 3 inches into the soil, wait a couple of minutes then look at the easy to read dial. The dial shows the soil temperature from 30 to 90 degrees F and has the preferred starting temperature for common garden items printed right on the dial.
